The Tree Of Life Commences (kind of)

After a few snafus with measurements (darn interior doors and old houses), I finally constructed the frame for the base. Those more observant amongst you will note that this is not my studio, this is actually my "library" (or extra bedroom as some might call it).  When I took my original measurements they were based on this room as this is the only room it can live in once the initial exhibit is over.  Unfortunately the ceilings upstairs are about 11" higher than in my basement where my studio is so I'm now building the tree in the library on the newly purchased throw rug.

I have also realized that without the additional funding from Kickstarter that there's no way in hell (pun intended) that I can afford to build it this large.  Therefore I've decided to scale it back.  It will still be about 7' tall and contain three 12" digital frames but it just won't be quite as wide or as deep as you see in the picture.  This is the one and only time I will ever create art of this nature so I'm a bit disappointed but such is life.  In the end I don't think it will make that much of a difference and it will be easier to transport.

In related news, I have most of the supplies for USB-NA.  Now I just have to practice bending copper tubing.
