The Apples

The first apples are underway.  Technically everything is underway actually.  My life has devolved into utter chaos at this point.  But at least I have my first red apple about 90% complete.  I'm going to have some copper "roots" coming out from the bottom but I think I may add some more red cabling to it yet.

This is the copper apple as of last night (10-19-2010).  As you can see it has exactly two copper cables strung across it. 

 

I started work on the USB-NA sculpture on Tuesday.  Heat bending copper tubing is definitely the way to go but it is very difficult.  I'm not entirely sure how successful I'll be able to be with it so I'm rethinking the design of the piece right now.  

The tree is also being redesigned slightly.  The overall size is such that is was blowing my budget so I'm making it slightly smaller.  Not too much but I really wanted to use 12" digital frames so the tree's diameter had to shrink a bit to reduce the overall cost.  On the plus side, I've been able to get a professional engineer to help me design it so it will be a very solidly built tree now.  

I did my first test renders of my archangels for Digital Heaven this morning.  So far so good.  I ran into a few snags but I'm working through them.
